Match Report
King's Rochester 3rd VII vs  St Lawrence College
On: Thursday, 03 Feb 2022
Venue: Away

After a long coach journey to Ramsgate, the girls arrived energized and ready to play their first match of the season. Unfortunately, we were 5 girls down, however this didn’t impact our morale. Throughout the first quarter, the girls came in with a strong defence, managing to maintain control of the ball for large portions of the game. Thanks to Caoimhe’s strong marking of the post and Liz and Elise’s countless interceptions, we were able to finish the first quarter only 1-0 down.

Throughout the game the girls were able to keep up with the really fast gameplay and with relentless pushing from our attack we were able to secure a few goals. Utilising our midfield, consisting of Ema and Becca, we were able to get the ball into the attacking third. Our strong work in the D from Phoebe allowed us to have multiple shots on goal. This led to goals from Evie and Vicky.

Although we were losing, the girls managed to maintain strong morale and spirit throughout and keep pushing right up until the end of the match. There were many improvements noted throughout the match as the new team learned how to work together and pass ahead. Man of the match was awarded to Elise for her strong work in defence.
