St Lawrence Match report

This was a game that the boys had anticipated all season long. There has always been a bit of a rivalry between us and St Lawrence in all sports and King’s knew they wanted to have the bragging rights.

With a very short warm up King's got straight to it. Temi Laskean, continuing his great form, scored two tries in the first half thanks to great work from Harrison Fermor to set him up. This led to a first half lead of 12-3 as King’s defence was on fire with Barnaby Thomas, Ed Keyte and Louis Johnson chopping anything that ran towards them.

The second half started and King’s seemed ready to turn on the heat. Pierce Sinden AKA the dancing queen playing at full back was stepping through St Lawrences kick chase always putting us on the front foot. A red card from St Lawrence and a penalty try allowed King’s to change into gear 6 and start to run in the tries. A lack of concentration did allow their juggernaut to crash over but with Barnaby Thomas’s going wild, almost scoring himself a try straight from kick off. However, he just fell short but was able to lift the ball off the floor and allow Harrison Fermor to score. Max Butler was also able to get three tries.

This win meant a lot to the 1st XV. It meant that another tough game went our way and the unbeaten season lives on
