Match Report
King's Rochester Boys-U14A vs  St Dunstan's College
On: Saturday, 02 Oct 2021
Venue: at Home

Last Saturday, the King’s U14A's took on St. Dunstan’s at the Alps. Despite the team missing some of their key players through injury and illness, the boys put in a great shift. The speed and power of Nathaneal Matarutse and Joseph Adenle scored 5 of our tries between them, with Charles Barnard adding to the tally. Joseph even managed to score wearing just one boot and running from the halfway line. Charlie Vowls had a great game at 9 until a blow to the head and an injured shoulder forced him off. Nicknamed Brick, his head did not fare well when it met with a boot. His determination and work rate up until that point deservedly earned him Man of the Match. Ludo stepped in at scrum half and put in a great effort in a slightly unfamiliar role.

Lukas Wu, having not played much rugby, put in an outstanding performance on the wing. The forwards were strong throughout and the backs demonstrated good use of the ball resulting in a 30-10 win for us. This game showed great improvement, not only in attack but also in our defensive work.

Our first game of the season was against Gravesend Grammar in the Kent Cup, where we were defeated 20-35. Game number 2 was against Ashford with the final score being 15-30 to us with Jack Pearson being our Man of the Match. Overall, a great start to our season, I look forward to what is to come.
